Name: Julie Bock
How We Met: Julie was working for Stowe, Vermont at the time and I was working for VSAA. It was 2002-ish. I was working an on mountain event in the sugar shack (hot maple syrup on snow-sounds gross but it is so good and is a VT tradition). The old couple, aka the sugar shack owners, I was working with were getting in lots of fights that day. Been married for 30+ yrs and argued about everything. Julie and I began making fun of these folks behind their back-she had me laughing until I was crying. It was on this day that I decided that I HAD to be friends with her. Less then a few months later and we became roommates and I haven't stopped laughing since.
Why Julie is a Favorite:
Julie has one of those personalities that people gravitate to. She is the perfect amount of sarcasm + real. Not only does she do the best impersonations of all SNL characters (Best of Will Ferrel was meant for her) but she also is able to have the serious conversations too. Please let it be known that this girl knows her music-I mean really if you ever hear a song and can't remember the name, call Julie she's got you covered.
I admire Julie for her strength, her character and her willingness to go the extra mile. I remember a time when she drove with me to Massachusetts to pick up a bed for me. It was 3 hours out of the way to pick up a bed that may or may not fit in her SUV. We somehow managed to shove the bed in her car after numerous times pushing and shoving until just the right twist got that bed in. Never once did she complain or act annoyed by the task. She was more then happy to help. This is how Julie is.
On the flip side she isn't afraid to cry and she isn't afraid to show you every side of her. The good, the bad take it or leave it-Julie isn't fake. I admire her for this. A lot of people, myself included, can't put themselves out there and make themselves that transparent.
Julie and Brian have a little girl named Haley and she is a darling happy little girl. I know that Julie is the best mom in the world and I see the love she has for Haley and it just makes me happy that she is so happy. Julie deserves nothing but all of the best things in life.
Let's raise a glass to my friend Julie-one of my favorites. A thousand thank you's for making me a better person!

That's the best (and nicest thing I've read all year). I'm honored.
You know, Karma does come back around because I am currently sleeping on that very same bed that we shoved into the back of my ride.
I can't wait for you to meet Haley. See ya in October!
